The moment she sat down, he smirked.
“First class must be running discounts,” he muttered loud enough for her to hear.
She looked out the window, silent.
Flight attendants passed, offering drinks.
He made a show of ignoring her, though he occasionally sneered at her size, whispering things under his breath.
Anyone watching could see she was uncomfortable.
As the plane prepared for takeoff, a crew member rushed over.
“Miss, thank you again for agreeing to fly on such short notice — the children are waiting.”
The rude passenger raised an eyebrow.
“Children?”

“Yes. She’s the surgeon who’s been flown in to perform an emergency operation.”
